Research on the Impact of Digital Technology Integration on Farmers'Non-agricultural Entrepreneurship
Digital integration plays an indispensable role in farmers'non-agricultural entrepreneurship.Examining how digital integration influences farmers non-agricultural entrepreneurship through information channels and social networks has significant practical implications for stimulating farmers'entrepreneurial enthusiasm and promoting rural revitalization.This pa-per is based on microdata from the CFPS conducted in 2016,2018,and 2020,and it conducts an in-depth analysis of the im-pact of digital integration on farmers'entrepreneurship and its mechanisms.The research results indicate a significant positive relationship between the level of digital integration among farmers and their likelihood of starting a business,and this conclusion remains robust even after addressing potential endogeneity issues in the model.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the impact of digital integration on farmers'non-agricultural entrepreneurship varies across regions and human capital levels.The mechanisms through which digital integration affects farmers'entrepreneurship primarily include improving information access in rural areas and enhancing the development and maintenance of social networks,which collectively help reduce entrepreneurial costs and activate entrepreneurial potential.Therefore,it is essential to further strengthen the construction of digital villages,accelerate the improvement of digital infrastructure in central and western regions,promote the establishment of digital information platforms,and enhance educational support in rural areas.These efforts would elevate farmers'levels of digital integration and encourage their enthusiasm and initiative for non-agricultural entrepreneurship.
