Inbound Tourism Supporting the Construction of a World-Class Tourism Power:Impact Mechanisms and Optimization Strategies
Building a world-class tourism power has been the goal of China's tourism industry since the beginning of the 21st century.Despite significant achievements over 40 years of reform and opening up,and an increasingly prominent role in"serving a better life, promoting economic development, building a spiritual homeland, showcasing China's image, and en-hancing mutual understanding among civilizations,"China remains a major tourism country rather than a world-class tourism power. This is largely due to the lack of a robust inbound tourism market. To maximize the role of the inbound tourism market in achieving world-class tourism power status, this paper analyzes the current state of China's inbound tourism. It identifies key issues such as low tourist arrivals, low revenue, slow growth rate, and a limited variety of tourist sources. The paper also outlines the significant challenges faced, including the slow global economic recovery, differences in inbound management policies, cognitive biases among overseas citizens, weak international marketing efforts, and the international digital divide.Subsequently, the paper explores the mechanisms of impact and optimization strategies for inbound tourism to support the development of a world-class tourism power.
