Research on Empowering High Quality Development of Digital Service Trade with Digital Infrastructure——Analysis based on the perspective of export technology complexity
With the advent of the digital economy, digital infrastructure creates a new development cornerstone for the high-quality development of digital services.Based on cross-country panel data from 2005-2021,this paper explores the impact of digital infrastructure on the high-quality development of digital services from the perspective of export technological com-plexity.The study finds that:(1)Digital infrastructure can effectively enhance the export technical complexity of digital services;(2)Digital infrastructure significantly contributes to the export technical complexity of financial, telecommunication computer and information, and intellectual property royalty services, while it has no significant impact on the export technical complexity of personal culture and entertainment, insurance and pension, and other business services. The promotion effect of digital infrastruc-ture is stronger in low-income level countries compared to high-income level countries;(3)Digital infrastructure can indirectly enhance the export technological complexity of digital services through the human capital channel;(4)Under the constraint of R&D intensity, digital infrastructure has a non-linear diminishing marginal effect on the export technological complexity of digi-tal services. In view of this, the development of digital infrastructure should be accelerated and the institutional environment should be optimised for protection;attention should be paid to the key areas of digital services trade and efforts should be made to narrow the digital divide;an international digital exchange platform should be built and digital professionals should be cultivated;attention should be paid to enhancing the efficiency of R&D inputs, and deepening the quality-orientation of digital infrastruc-ture construction.
