Study on the Impact of Productive Service Industry Agglomeration on Reducing the Rural-Urban Income Gap
With the rapid development of China s economy, the agglomeration of productive services,as an important part of the national economy, plays an important role in reducing the urban-rural income gap. This paper discusses the impact of productive service industry agglomeration on the urban-rural income gap,and the role of the degree of marketized allocation of production factors in reducing the urban-rural income gap by productive service industry agglomeration. It also empirically analyzes the systematic generalized method of moments estimation(SYS-GMM)using the relevant panel data of China s provinces for the period 2006-2021 as a sample, and the results show that the agglomeration of productive service in-dustries can significantly reduce the urban-rural income gap.In further analysis, the threshold role of the degree of marketized allocation of production factors on productive service industry agglomeration affecting the urban-rural income gap is verified. When the degree of marketized allocation of production factors reaches the second threshold, the agglomeration of productive services can significantly reduce the urban-rural income gap; However, when the degree of marketized allocation of production factors is between the two thresholds, there is no significant relationship between the two. Therefore,in order to narrow the urban-rural income gap,the agglomeration of productive services should be accelerated and the free movement of factors of production should be promoted.
