As core platform for implementing the ideological and political education for universities students,the ideological and political course and its teachers play the backbone role.Teachers of ideological and political courses should embrace a series of key abilities,including political quality,theoretical skills,language expression,teaching design,use of new media,education and teaching research and other abilities.At present,new teachers of ideological and political courses in universities still lack teaching methodology,teamwork spirit,social practice,knowledge reserve,classroom management and other teaching qualities and teaching abilities.The present study concludes that it is crucial to improve the teaching literacy and ability of new teachers of ideological and political courses in universities.In order to achieve this goal,it is suggested to start from the following six aspects:to enhance political literacy by strengthening ideals and beliefs;to cultivate deep feelings to sharpen the initial mission;to cultivate innovative thinking to develop teaching skills;to broaden knowledge horizons by consolidating theoretical foundations;to adhere to self-discipline and self-motivation to abide by disciplinary rules and regulations;and to cultivate noble morals to refine integrity.
