Research on the current situation and competitiveness of trade between China and Kazakhstan——Based on the background of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative
Based on the Rev.4 classification of SITC of UN Comtrade database,this paper constructs a compre-hensive index system for trade competitiveness of comparative advantage,competitive advantage and comple-mentary advantage,and then studies trade competitiveness from the level of overall industries and segmented in-dustries.The results show that in 2022,China has comparative and competitive advantages in three categories of products:finished products based on raw materials,mechanical transportation equipment,and miscellaneous products.Kazakhstan has comparative and competitive advantages in three categories of products:non-edible raw materials,fuel mining items,and finished products based on raw materials;In 2022,China has complementary advantages in producing finished products and miscellaneous products based on raw materials in Kazakhstan,while Kazakhstan has complementary advantages in producing edible raw materials and finished products based on raw materials in China and Africa.Through further analysis of segmented industries,this paper proposes countermea-sures and suggestions to enhance the core competitiveness of dominant industries,enhance the level of comple-mentary industry cooperation,strengthen trade connections in key industries,expand economic and trade coop-eration between other industries and the countries along the Belt and Road,and promote the comprehensive de-velopment of production capacity cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
