Research on the evolution of Sino-US ICT product trade——Analysis method based on spatial pattern visualization
In the era of innovation driven and led by digital technology,information and communication technol-ogy(ICT)has become an important symbol to measure a country's digital trade strength.Based on the data of bilateral trade of Sino-US ICT product trade from 2003 to 2022,this paper analyzes the characteristics and status of Sino-US ICT product trade from both micro and macro perspectives based on spatial pattern visualization.Firstly,this paper analyzes the types of ICT products exported from China to the United States by drawing the spatial structure of trade.Secondly,by applying the head-tailed breaks and drawing the Hilbert curve,this paper visualizes the importance of ICT product classification in spatial patterns.The results show that the bilateral trade structure of ICT products between China and the United States is stable,the change degree of product trade is even,and there is room for trade growth and development potential.From the perspective of products,"portable automatic data processing equipment weighing ≤ 10kg"has shown extremely important and stable characteristics in the Sino-US ICT product trade.According to the rank size method,it is found that Sino-US ICT product trade presents a typical heavy-tailed distribution,78%of the tailed products are crucial for maintaining and con-solidating the stability of the ICT product trade structure,and 22%of the top products play an important role in the Sino-US trade.From the perspective of spatial grid distribution,Sino-US ICT product trade presents a sig-nificant positive spatial spillover effect.
