High-quality development of foreign trade empowered by new quality productivity——An empirical test from provincial panel data
The 2024 National Conference on Foreign Trade Work pointed out that it is necessary to accelerate the development of new quality productivity and solidly promote the high-quality development of trade.Based on the evaluation index system of the development level of new quality productivity and high-quality development level of foreign trade,this paper uses provincial panel data to conduct fixed effect regression analysis to explore the impact of new quality productivity on high quality development of foreign trade.It is found that the development level of new quality productivity is increasing year by year,but the development is unbalanced among regions;The new quality productivity plays a significant role in promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade,which is still valid after the robustness test and endogeneity analysis.The mechanism test shows that the new quality productivity can promote the high-quality development of foreign trade by improving the innovation ability;The protection of intellectual property rights has a positive regulating effect,which can enhance the pro-motion effect of new quality productivity on the high-quality development of foreign trade;The new quality productivity has a significant promoting effect on the provinces with developed economic foundations and good market environment,but has no significant effect on the provinces with underdeveloped economic foundations and poor market environment.This paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen innovation-driven and industrial synergy,strengthen intellectual property protection,optimize market environ-ment to promote the rapid development of new quality productivity and high-quality development of foreign trade.
