The impact of intellectual property protection on agricultural products export trade from the perspective of factor price distortion
Based on the inter-provincial panel data of China from 2012 to 2021,this paper constructs the mediat-ing effect model and the spatial Durbin model to explore the impact of intellectual property protection on the export competitiveness of agricultural products, discusses the mediating effect of factor price distortion, and cal-culates the direct effect and spatial spillover effect of intellectual property protection on the export competitiveness of agricultural products, and conducts heterogeneity analysis taking the eastern, central, and western regions as standards. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the protection of intellectual property rights, capital price distortion, urbanization level, environmental regulation, transportation equipment level and the development of digital economy can significantly improve the export competitiveness of agricultural products. However, the dis-tortion of labor price and excessive industrial agglomeration will inhibit the development of export competitive-ness of agricultural products.Secondly, the direct promoting effect of intellectual property protection and the positive mediating effect of alleviating labor price distortion are greater than the negative mediating effect of in-tellectual property protection in alleviating capital price distortion and thereby reducing"cost advantage"to lower the export competitiveness of agricultural products.Thirdly, the export competitiveness of China's agricultural products has significant spatial correlation, and the protection of intellectual property rights has significant positive spatial spillover effect and direct effect, with significant regional heterogeneity. From the perspective of spillover effect, the eastern region>the central region>the western region; From the perspective of direct effect perspective, the central region>the eastern region>the western region.
