Migrant mobile vendors make up an important part of the floating population and informal employment. To explore the survival patterns and senses of gain of migrant mobile vendors and take active intervention measures is the inherent demand of people-centered urban construction. The effects of survival patterns and social comparison on the sense of gain of migrant mobile stallholders is analyzed based on a nationwide survey data. The discoveries are as follows:the sense of gain of migrant mobile vendors is at a medium level, with population heterogeneity. The survival pattern has a triggering effect on the generation of the sense of gain of migrant mobile vendors:having one's own house and participating in pension insurance can significantly improve the sense of gain;and having better health status generates more positive experience of gain.Social comparison has a strong catalytic effect on the generation of sense of gain:compared with relatives, colleagues, and general social members, migrant mobile stallholders with better occupational and economic status show a higher level of sense of gain;while comparison with relatives, friends, and colleagues in their hometown is not conducive to the improvement of sense of gain. Therefore, improving the objective living conditions of non-local mobile vendors and guiding them to choose a rational social comparison framework can improve the sense of gain of the population.
