The Yidigang tomb group consists of at least seven tombs of the Marquises of the Zeng state. The excavated tombs can be divided into three phases and five segments, most of which are dated to the Spring and Autumn Period and potentially extending to the mid to late Warring States period. The tombs are mostly oriented east-west,with the majority arranged in a north-south row in the form of cou-ples buried together.Spatially, the layout of burial consists of two parts:the burial zone for the Marquis-es of Zeng is centered around political relationships and the family burial cluster is formed by blood rela-tionships.The burial zone of the Marquises of Zeng is located on the central axis of the hill, with later dates progressing from north to south, including Marquis Qiu,Marquis Boo,Marquis De,Marquis of Zeng(M4),Marquis Yu,Marquis of Zeng(M2),and Marquis Bing. The family burial cluster is distribut-ed around the periphery of the burial zone of Marquises of Zeng, corresponding to the tombs of the same period.Additionally, chariot and horse pits,as well as some empty spaces, serve as boundaries between the tombs of Marquises of Zeng and the family burial cluster.
