Based on the shape and form of Boyoufu's sword,as well as the writing style of the in-scriptions on it,we suggest it was a bronze sword of the Chu state dated to the Warring States period. The owner of the sword claims to be the grandson of the Eastern King(quite likely King Jian of Chu). Therefore, the owner's father must have been a feudal lord of the Chu state during the Warring States period, and may have been granted the land of Baoxin or Fu.
