From October 2017 to December 2019,the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted systematic surveys and excavations of the Zhongchuming site and its surrounding areas.A total of 28 man-built earth platforms dating back to the Liangzhu culture period were discovered, and the occupation area totals over one million square meters.Multiple excavations were carried out at the sites of Muyuqiao,Xiaoqiaotou, and Wangjiali, where,in addition to the man-built earth platforms,a large number of discarded jade materials,semi-finished jade artifacts,as well as whetstones and grinding stones were unearthed. This work confirmed that the Zhongchuming site cluster was a large-scale jade workshop site during the Liangzhu culture period. The excavated ma-terials are important for studying craft production and the social structure of the Liangzhu culture peri-od.
