We propose that the texts"Dafugua"recorded in the legal questions and answers in the Qin Dynasty bamboo slips unearthed at Shuihudi refer not to a small number of Dafu(大夫)but instead,a kind of Youjuegua(有爵寡)which was a Dafu's widow's title that inherited from her husband.Dafugua households did not serve in the military,and there were many possibilities for them to settle down.There are not conducive to the stability of the Wuren in the military and village,and the determi-nation of joint liability.So,they were excluded from the Wuren.The rank composition of village house-holds was below Wudafu(五大夫).
