From July to September 2018,the Archaeology Department of the School of History at Wuhan University,in collaboration with the Zoumaling Archaeological Site Park Management Office in Shishou,conducted excavations in the northem section(Zone Ⅳ)of the inner town of Zoumaling.The excavation revealed Neolithic features including house foundations,ash pits,ditches,earthen burial pits,and um burials.A significant quantity of pottery and stone artifacts were unearthed.The unearthed features and artifacts date to the Upper Qujialing and Shijiahe cultural periods.These findings provide new insights into the layout and settlement of the inner town of Zoumaling.
