In November 2009,the Jingzhou Museum conducted the first excavation of the joint sacrificial tombs of Xiongjiazhong,uncovering two tombs numbered NPM1 and NPM2.A total of 48 artifacts,including bronze,jade,and lacquered wooden items,were unearthed.The tombs date from the late stage of the early Warring States period to the early stage of the mid-Warring States period.The excavation of these tombs provides important materials for studying the sacrificial burial practices of the Chu State during the Warring States period.
