Labels of burial goods are explanatory texts attached to the burial containers of tombs from the Warring States period to the Western Han Dynasty. They were widely used for burying large quantities of cooked food. The labels of burial goods of the Western Han can be divided into two categories:sealed labels and vessel labels. The sealed labels were often unearthed with inventories of burial goods in the early Western Han,and their contents corresponded to each other, while after the middle Western Han Dynasty, they were unearthed together with clothing and goods lists, but their contents are no longer the same.Vessel labels became popular in the middle and late Western Han,while uncooked grains gradually became the main part of burial food, reflecting the changes in people's views on life and death at that time.
