Brief Report of Laboratory Excavation of M88 from Sujialong Site in Jingshan of Hubei
The M88 tomb at the Sujialong site in Jingshan,Hubei,is a high-status noble burial of the early to middle Spring and Autumn periods.It yielded many exquisite bronze and jade artifacts,and the tomb's occupant is identified as Zeng Bo Qi's wife,Mi Ke.Due to the tomb's undisturbed condition,its archaeological value is particularly significant.To prevent damage to the artifacts and the loss of o-riginal information,the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology,in collaboration with Shandong University and other institutions,conducted laboratory archaeology on the section con-taining the coffin.In a controlled environment,meticulous cleaning of the coffin area was performed,a-long with the multi-faceted extraction,preservation,and analysis of various types of information,clari-fying the stratigraphic relationships among the eight micro-layers within the coffin area.
