The recent discovery of four Warring States tombs at the Wuliping cemetery in Lanshan County of Hunan Province reveals significant insights into burial customs and grave goods.Among these,one tomb is identified as a typical Yue tomb,while the other three are characteristic of Chu tombs.The discovery of these Warring States tombs is of great significance,it not only provides impor-tant clues for exploring the southern boundary of the Chu state,but also offers new opportunities for dis-cussing the founding date of the Ancient City of Nanping.Furthermore,it contributes new data for the in-depth study of cultural exchanges and ethnic integration between the Chu and Yue cultures in pre-sent-day southem Hunan during the Warring States period.
