Three Forms of Family Rituals Studies in the Ming Dynasty and Their Development
The development of Family Rituals studies in the Ming Dynasty displayed distinct phase characteristics.In the early Ming Dynasty,Family Rituals were regarded as essential texts for constructing national identity,with scholars such as Cao Duan and Song Lian mainly focusing on its dissemination.In the second phase,scholars like Wang Yuan,Tang Duo and Feng Shan reversed the scarcity of theoretical resources in the early phase by reorganizing the knowledge lineage of its commentaries.Qiu Jun's Family Rituals and Festivals marked a new direction for the study,becoming the most widely disseminated text of Family Rituals in the mid and late Ming Dynasty and an important resource for constructing the ritual studies system.
