Health Vision in the Post-War Order:The Oriental Research of Norman White, the League of Nations'Health Officer in 1922-1923
Transnational health governance became one of the post-war countries common needs after the end of World War I.In this context, the League of Nations Health Committee came into being. To intervene in epidemic prevention and control in the Far East, the League sent Chief Commissioner Norman White to the Fast East to investigate the epidemic situation in 1922-1923.After a field visit and exchange of information,Norman White made a series of suggestions to improve the current situation of epidemic prevention in the Far East, including establishing the Far East Epidemiological Bureau in Singapore. The visit marked the formal involvement of the League of Nations in transnational health governance outside Europe and reflected the multiple dimensions and complexity of health construction in the post-war order.
