Clinical observation of three surgical methods for nasal vestibular cyst
Objective To investigate the clinical significance of three surgical methods for the treatment of nasal vestibular cyst(NVC).Method Sixty-four cases of nasal vestibular cyst in the otolaryngology department of Nanjing Medical University Affiliated Nanjing Hospital from January 2013 to June 2020 were analyzed retrospectively.Patients were assigned into three groups according to surgical methods:the labial gingival sulcus resection group(group A,23 cases),the nasal endoscopic uncovered group(group B,22 cases)and the nasal endoscopic resection group(group C,19 cases). The surgical indications and clinical effects of three operations were compared among the three groups. Results The surgical time, the surgical blood loss, the wound healing time, the hospital stay time and the facial swelling in groups B and C were better than those in group A,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS scores of groups B and C were lower than those of group A on the 1st,2nd,3rd,and 5th days after operation.Com-paring the two groups B and C,the wound healing time of group B was shorter than that of group C,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the labial gingival sulcus resection surgery, the nasal endoscopic uncovered surgery and nasal endoscopic resection surgery have the advantages of shorter surgical time, less bleeding, faster incision healing, and lower incidence of adverse reactions. The wound healing time of nasal endoscopic uncovered surgery is better than that of endoscopic resection surgery. Therefore, the author believes that nasal endoscopic uncovered surgery is suitable for widespread clinical promotion, and nasal endoscopic resection surgery can be used as a supplementary treatment for recurrent cases of labial gingival sulcus resection and nasal endoscopic uncovered surgery.
