The application of TTM for family-centered nurseing education in enterotomy patients
Objective To explore the influence of TTM-based home nursing intervention of patients with intestinal stoma.Method-Ninety patients who underwent prophylactic enterostomy for colorectal cancer were selected as research object and randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 45 patients in each group. The control group received standard nursing, and the ex-perimental group received TTM-based home nursing intervention on the basis of standard nursing. Two groups of patients were evaluated for their stoma self-care ability using the stoma self-care scale-early version-before discharge and one month after surgery. The stoma patient quality of life scale was used to evaluate the quality of life level and the incidence of stoma complications. Results After inter-vention,both groups of patients showed an increase in self-care ability scores for stomas one month after surgery, the difference was sta-tistically significant(P<0.05),comparison of total scores for self-care ability, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001),there was a statistically significant difference in stomal complications between the two groups of patients one month after surgery(P<0.05),there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of stomal complications between the intervention group and the control group before and after self comparison(P=0.081),the incidence of stomal complications in the control group showed statisti-cally significant differences before and after self comparison(P=0.001);One month after the operation, the total score of quality of life of both groups increased, but the total score of quality of life of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the con-trol group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion TTM-based family-centered nursing education is applied to patients undergoing preventive enterostomy for colorectal cancer, can improve the self-care ability of patients, reduce the incidence of stomostomy complications, improve their quality of life.
