Protective effect of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid on the kidneys of rats with hemorrhagic shock
Objective To explore the protective effect of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid 18β-Gly)on acute kidney injury in rats with hem-orrhagic shock.Method SD female rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:SHAM group,HS group,18 β-Gly low dose group,18β-Gly medium dose group and 18β-Gly high dose group, through 18 β-Glycyrrhetinic acid pretreatment was used to create a hemor-rhagic shock rat model using femoral artery bleeding. The renal body ratio, pathological changes in renal tissue, and expression of blood urea nitrogen(BUN)and creatinine(CRE)were detected after hemorrhagic shock in rats. Results Compared with the HS group, the renal body ratio and CRE levels in the 18β-Gly medium dose group and 18β-Gly high dose group were significantly de-creased(P<0.05),but the BUN in the 18β-Gly medium dose group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).HE staining showed that the pathological damage was significantly reduced in the 18β-Gly medium dose group and 18β-Gly high dose group compared with the HS group. Conclusion 18β-Gly can effectively reduce the renal body ratio,BUN and CRE levels in hemorrhagic shock rats, reduce the renal pathological damage in hemorrhagic shock rats, and play a renal protective role.
