The application value of"three low dose"scanning in head and neck CTA examination
Objective To investigate the application value of"three low dose"scanning in head and neck CT angiography(CTA).Method A total of 120 patients who underwent head and neck CTA examination of 18.5 kg/m2≤BMI<30 kg/m2 from September 2022 to April 2023 were collected as research subjects, and they were divided into group A and group B by simple random method, with 60 patients in each group.Group A was scanned conventionally, group B was scanned by injection with low tube voltage, low contrast a-gent and low flow rate. After scanning, the image quality was evaluated subjectively and objectively. The CT values and image noise(SD value)of aortic arch(OAR),left and right common carotid artery(L/R CCA),left and right internal carotid artery(L/R IC),left and right middle cerebral artery M1 segment(L/R MC)were measured on head and neck CTA images, and the signal-to-noise ra-tio(SNR)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)of each location were calculated. The effective radiation dose(ED)was recorded. The image quality was evaluated subjectively and the results of measurement and calculation were analyzed statistically. Results There was no significant difference in overall vascular scores between group A and group B(P>0.05).The CT value of aortic arch(OAR)in group A was significantly different from that in group B(P<0.05).The CT values of left and right common carotid artery(L/R CCA),left and right internal carotid artery(L/R IC),and left and right middle cerebral artery M1 segment(L/R MC)were not sig-nificantly different between group A and group B(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in SNR and CNR among all groups(P>0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in DLP of group A and group B(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the ED value of group A and group B(P<0.05).Conclusion When 18.5 kg/m2≤BMI<30 kg/m2,the"three low dose"scan can meet the diagnostic requirements, reduce the radiation dose, reduce the adverse effects of contrast agents, and increase the patient compliance.
