Effects of homeopathic and counter current administration of dihydroquercetin and β-nicotinamide mono-nucleotide on growth and physiology in Rats
Objective In order to further validate the traditional Chinese medicine formula-ology theory of yin-yang medicine divi-sion and time-division by studying the effects of administering dihydroquercetin AND β-nicotinamide mononucleotides in both homeo-pathic and retrograde ways on the growth and physiology of rats.Method 48 SD rats without specific pathogen level were randomly di-vided into homeopathic feeding group, counter feeding group, mixed feeding group, and control group, with 12 rats in each group, half male and half female. The homeopathic feeding group was given dihydroquercetin solution in the morning and in the afternoon β-Nico-tinamide mononucleotide solution was administered in the reverse order to the homeopathic feeding group, while the mixed feeding group received dihydroquercetin and β-Niacinamide mononucleotide mixed solution was administered by gavage twice in the morning and evening. The control group was given an equal amount of ultrapure water by gavage in the morning and evening. All four groups were administered 5 days a week for a total of 6 weeks. On the 1st,10th,20th,30th,and 45th day of feeding, observe the skin hair, behavioral status, excitement level, irritability response, sleep status, and fecal status of rats in each group. The feed intake and body weight of rats were measured on Mondays,Wednesdays, and Fridays after 2,4,and 6 weeks of feeding. On the 45th day of feeding, blood routine and biochemical indicators of rats were measured, and organ coefficients were calculated. Results During the experiment, there were no significant changes in the skin hair, behavioral state, excitement level, irritability response, sleep state, and fecal state of the rats in each group. There was no statistically significant difference in daily feed intake and body weight between the four groups of female and male rats at each stage(P>0.05).After 6 weeks of administration, there were no statistically significant differences in organ coefficients, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, lymphocyte count, monocyte count, eosinophil count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, total serum protein, total bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, triglycerides, total serum cholesterol, urea, fasting blood glucose, creatinine, and potassium ion among the four groups of rats(P>0.05).The cardiac organ coefficients of male rats in the homeopathic and counter feeding groups were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);The alanine aminotransferase of fe-male rats fed with homeopathy was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);The glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase in the mixed feeding group of male rats was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);The sodium ions in the mixed feeding group of female rats were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Administration along the trend and against the trend can cause a decrease in the heart organ coefficient of rats, while mixed administration can cause an increase in aspartate aminotransferase and a decrease in sodium ions in rats.
