Clinical significances of serum H-FABP and sST2 in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with coronary heart disease
Objective To investigate the clinical significances of serum H-FABP and sST2 level in T2DM patients with CAD.Method We enrolled 89 patients with T2DM,according to whether they had CAD or not,the patients were divided into 49 cases in the T2DM group and 40 cases in the T2DM complicated with CAD group,and 33 healthy persons who underwent physical examination in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group.Clinical data of all subjects including sex,age,BMI,SBP,DBP and the biochemical data such as TC,TG and LDL were collected.The serum H-FABP was detected by latex-enhance immuno-turbidimetric assay and ELISA was used to detect the serum sST2 levels.Results There were no significant differences in sex,age,BMI,TC,TG,LDL and HDL among the three groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,T2DM group and T2DM with CAD group had higher SBP,UREA and HbA1c.Serum levels of NT-proBNP,hs-cTNT,H-FABP and sST2 were significantly higher in T2DM with CAD group than those in T2DM group(P<0.05).No significant differences were found in the H-FABP and sST2 among T2DM group and the control group(P>0.05),but serum H-FABP,sST2 levels in T2DM with CAD group were significantly higher than T2DM group and control group(P<0.05).Serum H-FABP,sST2 levels showed significant positive correlated with NT-proBNP level and H-FABP level was positively correlated with sST2 level.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of NT-proBNP,hs-cTNT,H-FABP and sST2 were 0.75,0.64,0.75 and 0.71,respectively.The combination of NT-proBNP and H-FABP showed the highest AUC of 0.87,the sensitivity and specificity were 78%and 96%,respectively.Conclusion The expression levels of serum H-FABP and sST2 are elevated in patients with T2DM combined with CAD.The combined detection of H-FABP and NT proBNP has important value in the diagnosis of T2DM combined with CAD.
