The impact of health education based on Skinner's reinforcement theory on pessimistic emotions, coping strategies, and sleep quality in patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery
Objective To explore the influence of health education based on Skinner's reinforcement theory on pessimism, coping style and sleep quality of patients undergoing thyroid cancer surgery.Method 90 patients with thyroid cancer in our hospital were se-lected as the research subjects, and all patients underwent surgical treatment, with a pathological type of papillary carcinoma.Accord-ing to different patient care methods, they were divided into two groups:the Skinner group of 45 cases(health education based on Skinner's reinforcement theory)and the conventional group of 45 cases(conventional health education).Observe the patient's pessi-mistic emotions, coping strategies, and changes in sleep quality. Results After the intervention, the self-rating depression scale(SDS)and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)of the skinner group and the routine group were significantly lower than before the intervention, and the skinner group was significantly lower than the routine group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the negative scores of skinner group and routine group were significantly lower than before the intervention, and the skinner group was significantly lower than the rou-tine group(P<0.05).The positive score was significantly higher than that before intervention, and the Skinner group was significantly higher than the routine group(P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of sleep quality in skinner group and routine group were significantly lower than those before the intervention, and the scores in skinner group were significantly lower than those in routine group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of health education based on Skinner's reinforcement theory in patients undergoing sur-gery for thyroid cancer reduces and improves pessimism, positive coping, and sleep quality.
