Expression and significance of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in mild endometriosis
Objective To explore the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in mild endometriosis, and to evalu-ate the applicability and diagnostic value of BDNF as a clinical marker of mild endometriosis.Method A total of 159 patients who were treated with laparoscopic surgery in Zhongshan Boai Hospital from 2020 to 2022 were selected as research object. They were divided in-to a study group(patients with endometriosis confirmed by laparoscopy and pathology, divided into mild endometriosis and severe endo-metriosis)of 111 cases and a control group(patients with tubal infertility)of 48 cases.A blood sample was obtained before surgery and BDNF and CA125 levels were quantified by ELISA.Then serum levels of BDNF in each group were compared,to analyze the pre-dictive value of BDNF in mild endometriosis. Results The serum BDNF and CA125 in study group were higher than those in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum BDNF and CA125 in patients with mild endometriosis were higher than those in control group, and the serum BDNF in patients with mild endometriosis was statistically different from that in control group(P<0.05).Compared with CA125,BDNF has larger area under the curve(AUC),The sensitivity and specificity of BDNF for the diagnosis of mild endometriosis were 76.2%and 62.2%,respectively.The serum BDNF and CA125 levels in severe endo-metriosis patients were higher than those in mild endometriosis patients, and there was no statistical difference in BDNF levels between the two groups(P>0.05),while CA125 levels were significantly increased in severe endometriosis patients, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The serum BDNF of patients with mild endometriosis are elevated, which can be used to diagnose endometriosis.
