The changes of OMP protein after olfactory pathway damage and the effect of resveratrol on it
Objective To investigate the changes of OMP protein and the effects of resveratrol on it after the olfactory imprinting of gaseous formaldehyde.Method The experimental animals were randomly divided into normal control group(referred to as control group),resveratrol administration group(referred to as administration group),formaldehyde accumulation group(referred to as form-aldehyde group),formaldehyde accumulation+resveratrol administration group(referred to as formaldehyde+administration group). The control group was not treated at all,the administration group and the formaldehyde+administration group were given resveratrol ga-vage treatment at 8 a.m.every day, with a gavage dose of 80 mg/(kg·d)for 30 days, and the formaldehyde group and formaldehyde+ad-ministration group were placed in the poisoning room from 9 a.m.to 12 p.m.every day for a total of 30 days. After 30 days, food bur-ial experiments, olfactory avoidance experiments and olfactory memory experiments were performed to detect olfactory function, and ol-factory nerves were taken to detect OMP expression after the experimental animals were sacrificed. Results The results of food burial experiment showed that the time for finding and burying food in the formaldehyde group was longer than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the time of food burial in the formaldehyde+administration group was longer than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of olfactory avoidance experiment showed that the time spent in the double distilled water chamber in the formaldehyde group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the time in the formaldehyde+administration group was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of olfactory memory experiment showed that the formaldehyde group spent a statistically significant time in the essential oil chamber compared with the control group(P<0.05),and the formaldehyde+administration group had a statistically significant difference in the time of the double distilled water chamber compared with the control group and a shorter time than the formaldehyde group(P<0.05).The results of Western blot showed that the histone content of formaldehyde decreased significantly compared with the control group(P<0.05),and the histone content of formaldehyde+administration decreased compared with the control group, and increased slightly compared with the formaldehyde group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Resveratrol can obviously promote the behavioral changes of rats with olfactory imprinting injury. The content of OMP protein in olfactory nerve of formaldehyde-accumulated rats decreased, and the ex-pression of OMP protein in olfactory nerve of formaldehyde-accumulated rats increased after resveratrol intervention.
