Factors influencing early death in patients with anal cancer:a retrospective study based on the SEER data-base
Objective To explore the influencing factors of early death in patients with anal cancer.Method 6852 patients with a-nal canal cancer were screened from the SEER database.Patients with anal cancer who die within three months of initial diagnosis were defined as early deaths from anal cancer.Exploring the influencing factors of early mortality in anal cancer patients based on univariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results Univariate logistic regression showed that age, insurance status, marital status,pathologi-cal grading, staging, bone metastasis, brain metastasis, lung metastasis, liver metastasis, surgery, and radiotherapy and chemotherapy were the influencing factors of early death in anal cancer patients(P<0.05).The results of multiple logistic regression showed that age, marital status, stage, bone metastasis, liver metastasis, surgery, and chemotherapy were independent influencing factors for early mortality in anal cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion This study showed that age, marital status, stage, bone metastasis, liver me-tastasis,surgery,and chemotherapy are influencing factors for early death in patients with anal cancer.Individualized interventions should be carried out based on the factors that affect prognosis.
