Comparative Study of 10-day and 14-day Quadruple Therapy for the Eradication of Helicobacter Pylori
Objective To explore the efficacy of a 10-day versus a 14-day course of quadruple therapy with Esomeprazole Enteric Capsules,Colloidal Bismuth Pectin,Doxycycline, and Clarithromycin for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(Hp).Method Pa-tients diagnosed with Hp infection who were allergic to Amoxicillin and treated with quadruple therapy(Esomeprazole Enteric Cap-sules,Colloidal Bismuth Pectin,Doxycycline, and Clarithromycin)at Hechi Third People's Hospital between March 2021 and March 2024 were selected for the study.Based on treatment duration, patients were divided into a 10-day course group and a 14-day course group.Data on the eradication rates of Hp,adverse reactions, and treatment costs were collected and compared between the two groups. Results The difference in eradication rates and adverse reactions between the 10-day and 14-day groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The treatment cost for the 10-day course group was significantly lower than that for the 14-day course group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Both the 10-day and 14-day courses of therapy achieve effective eradi-cation of Hp.Considering time and treatment costs, the 10-day course is more suitable for clinical promotion.
