Correlation between carotid Arteriosclerosis and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, lipoprotein(a)and uric acid in elderly hypertensive patients
Objective To investigate the correlation between carotid Arteriosclerosis and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, lipoprotein(a)and uric acid in elderly hypertensive patients.Method 180 patients with essential hypertension admitted to the Xinyu People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as research objects.According to the results of color ultrasound, they were divided into three groups:normal endometrium group(50 cases),intimal thickening group(60 cases),and plaque forma-tion group(70 cases).General information, high sensitivity CRP,lipoprotein(a),uric acid(BUA)level, carotid Arteriosclerosis and related factors of biochemical indicators were observed. Results The age and gender differences among the three groups of patients with endometrial thickening, plaque formation, and normal endometrium were not statistically significant(P>0.05);The levels of high sensitivity CRP,lipoprotein(a),and BUA in the endometrial thickening group and plaque formation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);The levels of high sensitivity CRP,lipoprotein(a),and BUA in the plaque formation group were higher than those in the endometrial thickening group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);Using IMT as the dependent variable and the other three indicators as independent variables, multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that all three were independent risk factors for increased carotid intima-media thickness[high sensitivity CRP,OR=2.383,95%CI=1.403~4.033,P=0.004;Lipoprotein(a),OR=2.579,95%CI=1.084~4.748,P=0.029;UA,OR=2.511,95%CI=1.001~4.796,P=0.000];Correlation analysis among the three groups showed a positive correlation between any two indicators[high sensitivity CRP and lipoprotein(a),r=0.665,P<0.05;High sensitivity CRP and UA,r=0.714,P<0.05;Lipoprotein(a)and uric acid,r=0.698,P<0.05].Conclusion Carotid Arteriosclerosis in elderly patients with hypertension is positively correlated with serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, lipoprotein(a)and uric acid. These factors are independent risk factors affecting the onset of hyperten-sion,which should be paid enough attention to clinically.
