The effect of External Application of Chinese Medicine Combined with Xiaojin Capsule on Thyroid Nodule with Qi Stagnation and Phlegm Obstruction and its Influence on Anxiety and Depression
Objective To study the effect of external application of Chinese medicine combined with Xiaojin capsule on anxiety and depression of thyroid nodule with qi stagnation and phlegm obstruction.Method A total of 70 inpatients with Qi-depression and phlegm obstruction type thyroid nodules in the Department of Endocrinology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2021 to November 2022 were selected as research object and randomly divided into control group(n=35)and experimental group(n=35).The control group was treated with Xiaojin capsule,which was used to remove swelling and blood stasis,twice a day,4 capsules each time.The experimental group was treated with external application of Xiaci Xiaojie powder on the basis of the control group,once a day,4 to 6 hours each time.Both groups were treated for 12 weeks.After 12 weeks,the TCM syn-drome scale score,clinical efficacy,changes in the maximum diameter of thyroid,adverse reactions,and the incidence of anxiety and depression were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the TCM syndrome score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After intervention,the clinical efficacy of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After intervention,the diameter of the maximum thyroid nodule in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group,with a statistical difference(P＜0.05).After intervention,the anxiety and depression scores of the experimental group decreased compared to the control group,with a statistical difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion Xiaci Xiaojie powder combined with Xiaojin capsule can improve the TCM syn-drome score of thyroid nodules with qi stagnation and phsputum obstruction,improve the clinical efficacy,reduce the size of thyroid nodules,and reduce the occurrence of anxiety and depression in patients.The method is non-invasive,simple and safe,and can im-prove patient satisfaction.
