Dynamic Evolution of Urban Transformation Efficiency and the Impact Path of Economic Transformation on the Urban Transformation Efficiency in the Yellow River Basin
Promoting the successful transformation of cities in the Yellow River Basin is of great significance for promoting ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.This paper took 79 municipal-level cities of 8 provinces in the Yellow River Basin as the study area,and systematically analyzed the dynamic evolution characteristics of urban transformation efficiency and the influence path of economic transformation on the urban transformation efficiency by using the methods of super-efficiency SBM model,spatial Markov matrix and bidirectional fixed effect model,and established a mediating effect model to test the mediating role of technological innovation.The results showed that:1)From 2008 to 2020,the fluctuation characteristics of urban transformation efficiency in the Yellow River Basin were obvious.The average urban transformation efficiency increased from 0.662 to 0.713,with an average annual growth rate of 0.63%,and there is still significant room for improvement.There was a certain"path dependence"and"self locking"effect in the urban transformation efficiency in the Yellow River Basin.Upward transfer cities were mainly distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin,while downward transfer cities were mainly distributed in the upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin.2)There was regional heterogeneity in the impact of economic transformation on the urban transformation efficiency in the Yellow River Basin.Marketization had a positive promoting effect on the urban transformation efficiency in the Yellow River Basin,while decentralization had a negative effect.3)Technological innovation could play a partial mediating effect in the process of economic transformation affecting the urban transformation efficiency,and the mediating effect had regional heterogeneity.Finally,the article provided suggestions on integrating economic transformation with technological innovation,strengthening industrial and technological exchanges,and formulating appropriate development policies to promote urban transformation and high-quality regional development in the Yellow River Basin.
