Based on the digital technology patent data of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration from 2010 to 2020,this study use the methods of the social network analysis and the panel negative binomial regression model to compare and analyze the spatiotemporal evolution and driving forces of digital technology innovation networks in three urban agglomerations. It shows that:1)The digital technology innovation networks in three urban agglomerations exhibit common characteristics of continuously expanding network scale and increasingly loose network structure at both the organizational and city levels, while showing an inward-oriented feature in terms of organizational relationships relying on"subordination relationships"between organizations.2)The digital technology innovation networks have regional heterogeneity in three urban agglomerations, which is mainly reflected in the cooperation scale and organizational cooperation modes of the urban networks. It focuses on nation-wide cooperation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, while it mainly relies on the local cooperation in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration. In terms of the cooperation model,state-owned enterprises of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration play an important role in shaping the network, while private enterprises of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration play an stronger role in innovation correlation. The Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration mainly relies on local private enterprise cooperation, and the industry-university-research cooperation between external universities and local enterprises has also played a key role in the early stages.3)Digital technology can effectively break through the limitations of geographical distance, traditional production factors such as capital is the important driving force for digital technology cooperation networks.
