Spatial Differences of the Coupling Coordination Level Between Virtual Development and Physical Development of Urban Tourism in the Yellow River Basin
Taking 67 prefecture-level cities in the Yellow River basin as the research areas and using the methods of the coupling and coordination model, the kernel density, and the bivariate spatial autocorrelation, this study analyzes the spatial distribution, agglomeration state, and association characteristics of the coupling coordination level between virtual development and physical development of urban tourism in the Yellow River basin.Based on the evaluation results,67 prefecture-level cities were classified into different types. The results show that:1)The overall coupling coordination level shows the gradient spatial distribution characteristics which"high in the southeast of the Yellow River basin and low in the northwest of the Yellow River basin"and forms a V-shaped high-value agglomeration belt taking Xi'an as the center and extending to the southwest-northeast direction. In terms of kernel density distribution, the coupling coordination level between virtual development and physical development of urban tourism show uneven distribution,high-value areas form a"山"-shaped(Chinese character)distribution centered on Lanzhou, the spatial structure of tourism shows the local agglomeration characteristics.2)From the perspective of coupling coordination level, most cities are not at a high level.Among them,61% of the cities are at the mild disorder level,37% are at the moderate disorder level, and only Xi'an is at the primary coordination level.3)In terms of spatial correlation characteristics, the spatial correlation effect of the coupling coordination level is not obvious,it has only one significant H-H zone(Baoji City),one significant L-L zone(Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture)and two significant H-L zones(Lanzhou City and Xinzhou City).4)From the classification of types, only Xi'an City falls into the"high virtual-high physical-high coupling"category. The largest proportion of cities is in the"low virtual-medium physical-medium coupling"type, followed by the"low virtual-low physical-low coupling"type.12 cities fall into the"medium virtual-medium physical-medium coupling"category. This reflects the overall weak strength and weak coupling between online promotion and offline resources of tourism in cities of the Yellow River basin.5)From the perspective of influencing factors, the number of Internet broadband access users, the number of employees in the computer services and software industry, the China regional innovation and entrepreneurship index, and local general public budget expenditures significantly impact the coupling coordination level between virtual development and physical development of urban tourism.Additionally, the interaction between government support strength, the natural environment, and transportation accessibility further enhances the impact on the coupling coordination level between virtual development and physical development of urban tourism.
