The urban-rural integration development within counties is the key point to deal with the relationship between urban and rural areas in the new era,in which rural land transfer plays an important role.Based on the panel data of 58 counties in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(hereinafter,Xinjiang)from 2012 to 2020,this paper constructs the theoretical mechanism of rural land transfer promoting the urban-rural integration development within counties,and empirically analyzes the spatial-temporal evolution trend,mediating effect and heterogeneity of urban-rural integration development in Xinjiang at the county level.It's found that:1)Rural land transfer had a positive effect on urban-rural integration development within counties.2)Rural land transfer promotes urban-rural integration development within counties through three ways:improving farming scale,promoting labor mobility and deepening agricultural capital.Among them,agricultural capital deepening plays a complete mediating effect,while the partial mediating effect of labor mobility is greater than that of farming scale.3)The promoting effect of rural land transfer on urban-rural integration development within counties is greater in northern Xinjiang than in southern Xinjiang.In the process of agricultural and rural modernization,it should improve the rural land property rights system,speed up the construction of the agricultural land transfer service system,vigorously cultivate new agricultural business entities,promote rural transfer employment,guide industrial and commercial capital and develop agricultural finance.In a word,the ultimate aim is to promote agricultural land transfer according to local conditions,and explore the road to achieve common prosperity in urban-rural integration development within counties.
