Impact of Tourism Development on Common Prosperity and Its Spatiotemporal Differentiation at the Provincial Level
Using the panel data of 31 provincial-level regions from 2010 to 2019,this article empirically evaluates the levels of tourism development and common prosperity in China by constructing a comprehensive evaluation index system for both.Additionally,it uses the regression and threshold models to explore the impact of tourism development on common prosperity and its regional heterogeneity. The results indicate that:1)Tourism development has a significant positive effect on common prosperity, with varying impacts on different dimensions. For every 1 unit increase in the level of tourism development, the sharing, development and sustainability of the common prosperity will increase by 0.089,0.048 and 0.012 units respectively.2)Tourism development has a nonlinear impact on common prosperity. The coefficients of the impact of tourism development on common prosperity before and after 2017 are 0.154 and 0.052,respectively.3)The level of tourism development shows clear regional heterogeneity in its positive impact on achieving common prosperity, with the coefficients following a pattern of"Northeast>Central>Western>Eastern".
