Observation on Structure of Female Reproductive Organs of Oriental Rat-Snake
To explore the tissue structure and characteristics of female reproductive organs of oriental rat-snake and understand their most basic physiological functions to provide theoretical basis for the artificial breeding and wild protection of oriental rat-snake,the histological study of female genital organs of oriental rat-snake was carried out by conventional anatomical methods, paraffin sections and hematoxylin-eosin(H.E.)staining techniques. The results showed that the female reproductive organs of the oriental rat-snake were composed of ovary, fallopian tube and olfactory gland. The ovaries lie in front of the kidney. The left and right ovaries are asymmetric. The right ovaries are in front, the left are in back, and the right ovaries are longer than the left. The ovaries contain ovaries of varying sizes that are visible by the naked eye.The ovary is in front of the bell of the fallopian tube, and the end of the fallopian tube opens the anterior dorsal wall of the urogenital cavity. The wall and diameter of fallopian tube gradually thicken and increase from anterior to posterior.
