Research Progress on Production,Determination and Metabolic Pathways and Its Application of 5-hydroxytryptophan
5-hydroxytryptophan(5-HTP)is a natural amino acid extracted from Ghana seeds.As an important intermediate,it is involved in the metabolism of tryptophan and regulates the secretion and synthesis of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and melatonin(MT)in animal body to play a variety of biological roles such as anti-depression and anti-oxidation.The current researches on 5-HTP are mainly focused on rats and mice,and there is less evaluation of ruminant applications.In this paper,the production,determination,metabolic pathways and application of 5-HTP were summarized to provide a reference for the development and application of 5-HTP.
