Trade Liberalization,Firm Production Network and Green Trade
This study examines the impact of trade liberalization on green trade within inter-firm production networks and its mechanisms.Firstly, the HITS algorithm is employed to construct the production network centrality index of Chinese enterprises.Subsequently,a theoretical model of the production network, encompassing intermediate imports, final exports, and pollution emis-sions,is established, followed by theoretical and empirical analyses. The findings reveal that trade liberalization reduces export emission intensity and promotes green trade.Furthermore, this promotion effect escalates with increasing network centrality of enterprises. The primary channels of influence stem from scale, structural, and technological effects. From the perspective of indus-try upstream, the production network adjustment effect of the industry in the most upstream posi-tion is not obvious, the network centrality of the industry in the most downstream position has a significant adjustment effect on export trade liberalization, and the network centrality of the in-dustry in the middle has a significant adjustment effect on import intermediate trade liberaliza-tion.From the perspective of different regions, the adjustment effect of production network is sig-nificant for enterprises in eastern China, but not significant for enterprises in central and western China.
