How Does Industrial Intelligence Affect Workers'Wage Bargaining Power?
This paper integrates industrial intelligence and workers'wage bargaining power into a unified analytical framework.By utilizing data from A-share listed manufacturing enterprises in China, this paper constructs indicators for industrial intelligence and workers'wage bargaining power, and further examines the impact and mechanism of industrial intelligence on workers'wage bargaining power at both theoretical and empirical levels. This paper finds that industrial intelligence significantly enhances workers'wage bargaining power, and the conclusion remains robust after tests such as the Heckman two-step method and alternative instrumental variables. The mechanism analysis reveals that industrial intelligence elevates workers'wage bargaining power through the expansion effect of external demand for high-skilled labor and the enhancement effect of internal human capital.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the positive effect of industrial intelligence on workers'wage bargaining power is more prominent in state-owned enterprises,en-terprises with low financing constraints,small-scale enterprises, enterprises without employee welfare, and enterprises located in regions with low living costs. This paper provides important policy implications for the government on how to leverage industrial intelligence transformation to enhance workers'wage bargaining power, increase the proportion of labor compensation, and im-prove the income distribution structure.
