Market Dependence Analysis of Chinese Product Exports on RCEP Partner Countries
With the official effectiveness of the RCEP,it is of great significance to study the economic and trade cooperation between China and its RCEP partners under the new development pattern.Using export trade data from the United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics Database and the World Bank database from 2000-2019,based on an extended gravity model, the market offer index is used to measure the differences in the competitive-ness of different categories of products exported by China to RCEP partner countries, and to analyze how China's trade exports in the context of RCEP can achieve high quality development. The study shows that tariffs and import duties as a share of tax revenue are important influencing factors for China's trade exports to other RCEP allied countries, and by further segmenting the product markets,it is found that it has different impacts on different catego-ries of product markets.Among them, the market impact on the upstream products of the industrial chain is greater,i.e.,the impact on lower quality exports is higher than that of higher quality exports.Based on the above results,sug-gestions are made to promote cooperation between China,Japan and South Korea, explore the production potential of upstream products in the industrial chain, and attract high-quality foreign direct investment in the RCEP RTA environment to promote a high level of opening of China's trade market and high-quality development of trade.
