The Influence of the Skill Characteristics of Urban Odd-job Workers on Their Working Time Allocation under New Employment Patterns
Skills are embodied in skill diversification and skill hierarchy, and working time allocation includes the two connotations of absolute working time and relative working time.Based on the survey data of urban odd-job workers, this paper studies the influence of skill diversification and skill hierarchy on absolute working hours and relative working hours of individuals and its mechanism. It is found that the increase of skill diversification and hier-archy not only has an inverted U-shaped relationship with working time allocation, but also has an inverted U-shaped relationship with working time allocation by affecting wage income. The number of jobs has a significant me-diating effect on the correlation between skill diversity and working time allocation. The moderating effect of employ-ment relationship significantly enhances the inverted U-shaped relationship between skill characteristics and work-ing time allocation. The skill level of odd-job workers should be improved to establish the overtime labor remunera-tion system, effectively regulate long working hours, optimize and improve the employment relationship adjustment mechanism, and rationally allocate working hours,so as to promote the high-quality employment of odd-job workers.
