Influence of Regional Innovation Ability on Green Development Efficiency
It is of great significance to explore the influence of regional innovation ability on economic benefits and environmental benefits under the background of advocating low-carbon development and high-quality develop-ment.This paper puts forward the hypothesis of linear and nonlinear relationships between economic growth effect,resources and environment effect,structural optimization effect and rebound effect.Meanwhile,it uses two-way fixed panel model,system GMM model and intermediary effect model to demonstrate the influence of China's re-gional innovation ability on green development efficiency from 2006 to 2020,and carries out endogenous test,ro-bustness test,mechanism test and heterogeneity test.The empirical results show that the regional innovation ability has a significant nonlinear influence on the efficiency of green development,and it shows a"U"-shaped change of first inhibition and then promotion.When the green innovation is emphasized and the innovation efficiency is im-proved,the regional innovation ability shows a significant role in promoting the green development efficiency.The growth efficiency of innovation has a"masking effect"on the green development efficiency,and at the same time,the regional innovation ability will promote the green development efficiency through the benefits of resources,envi-ronment and structure optimization.From the perspective of regional heterogeneity,the regional innovation ability in the eastern and western regions of China still shows a significant"U"-shaped relationship with the green develop-ment efficiency,but its influence in the central region is not significant.
