Bidirectional FDI Coordinated Development,Industrial Structure Upgrading and Green Total Factor Productivity
The 20th National Congress Report states"persisting in the high-level opening-up to the outside world, and accelerating the construction of the new development pattern of taking the domestic circulation as the main body with the domestic and international dual-circulation mutual-promotion".In this background,strength-ening the interaction between industrial structure upgrading and bidirectional FDI coordinated development will contribute to advancing the green transformation of economic development. This paper chooses the panel data of 30 provinces(except Tibet)from 2003 to 2020 in China, and uses the dynamic SBM-GML model to calculate the green total factor productivity of the 30 provinces, and conduct a study of the impact of bidirectional FDI coordinated de-velopment on green total factor productivity from the perspective of industrial structure upgrading. The conclusion indicates that:(1)Bidirectional FDI has a significant promoting effect on green total factor productivity;(2)bidirec-tional FDI drives total factor productivity growth mainly through improving green technology progress,in which the bidirectional FDI in the eastern region has a significant promoting effect on green total factor productivity, while this effect is not significant in the central and western regions;and(3)improving the level of industrial structure upgrad-ing and rationalization can enhance the promoting effect of bidirectional FDI on green total factor productivity growth.
