Comprehensive evaluation of the fruits mineral nutritional characteristics of different macadamia cultivars
[Objective]To understand the mineral nutritional characteristics of different parts of macadamia nuts,to comprehensively evaluate the content of mineral elements in the kernels of different macadamia nut varieties, and to provide a reference basis for the nutritional regulation of macadamia nuts and the comprehensive utilization of by-products.[Method]13 macadamia cultivars were selected as test materials, and the contents of N,P,K,Ca,Mg,Fe,Mn,Cu,Zn,and B in the pericarp, shell, and kernel were determined respectively, the fruit quality was evaluated comprehensively using the methods including single-factor variance analysis, coefficient of variation analysis, membership function value method, and principal component analysis.[Result]The mineral element contents of different cultivars and different parts of the fruit varied. The highest content of mineral elements in its pericarp was K,followed by N,and the lowest content was trace element B.The highest content of mineral elements in the husk was N,followed by Ca and K,and the lowest content was trace element B.The highest content of mineral elements in the kernel was N,followed by K,P,Mg,Ca.The mineral element content of kernels was analyzed using principal component analysis(PCA),the 10 mineral nutrient indicators were synthesized into 4 principal components, with a cumulative contribution rate of 83.672% .Using the affiliation function value method and the calculation of the comprehensive evaluation value, the 13 cultivars could be classified into 3 categories, with the highest comprehensive evaluation of the mineral element content being HAES344,followed by NY3 and the lowest being NY12.[Conclusion]There are great differences in the mineral elements of different varieties and different parts of the fruit, the results of stepwise regression analysis showed that N and Ca had a greater effect on fruit mineral nutrition, while Mn,Cu,Zn,B are important trace elements.Fruit peel and shell are rich in mineral elements, carrying out the comprehensive utilization of peel and shell by-products is of great research significance.
