Comparison of phenolic acids and flavonoids in leaves and berries of different varieties of seabuckthorn
[Objective]Provide reference for the development and utilization of seabuckthorn phenolic acid and flavonoid resources,as well as targeted breeding.[Method]Eleven sea buckthorn varieties were selected as the research objects, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS)was used to detect the phenolic acid and flavonoid components in the leaves and berries of each variety, and differences were compared and analyzed.[Result]Ten phenolic acid components, including ferulic acid, vanillic acid, and p-coumaric acid, were detected in the leaves of 11 seabuckthorn varieties, with a total content of 1 032.466-3 354.984 μg/g.Among them,'Zhonghongguo'(3 354.984 μg/g)and'201309'(2066.444 μg/g)had the highest total phenolic acid content, mainly composed of ferulic acid, vanillic acid,p-coumaric acid, and gallic acid.Eight flavonoids, including rutin, epigallocatechin gallate, and quercetin, were detected in the leaves of 11 sea buckthorn varieties, with a total content of 181.359-617.098 μg/g.Rutin was the main component, and the varieties with the highest total flavonoid content were also'Zhonghongguo'(617.098 μg/g)and'201309'(451.432 μg/g).Five phenolic acids, namely protocatechuic acid, syringic acid,p-coumaric acid, gallic acid, and caffeic acid, were detected in the berries of 11 varieties, with a total content of 25.002-98.009 μg/g.The phenolic acid content of'Zaciyou 10'(98.009 μg/g)and'201308'(77.503 μg/g)was relatively high, with p-coumaric acid being the main component.Eight types of flavonoids could be detected in the berries of 11 varieties, with a total content of 54.219-351.622 μg/g.The content of'201301'(351.622 μg/g)and'201308'(189.981 μg/g)was relatively high, and the main flavonoid component was also rutin.[Conclusion]'Zhonghongguo'and'201309'can be used as phenolic acid and flavonoid resources in seabuckthorn leaves,while'Zaciyou10','201308'and'201301'can be used as phenolic acid and flavonoid resources in seabuckthorn berries for targeted cultivation and demonstration promotion.
