Deregulation of Market Access and Green Transformation of Enterprises:A Quasi-natural Experiment Based on the Pilot of"Negative List System for Market Access"
Enterprises are the main actors toward carbon peak.Accelerating the green transformation of enter-prises has become an important link to achieve high-quality development and ecological civilization construction.This paper considers the recent introduction of the market access negative list system in China as an external event,selects Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies as the research sample,in-depth exploration of the relationship and mechanism between deregulation of market access and green transformation of enterprises.The study found that the deregulation of market access can significantly promote the green transformation of enter-prises,which is still true after a series of robustness tests.Further analysis found that the deregulation of market ac-cess mainly promoted the green transformation of enterprises by improving the efficiency of resource allocation,al-leviating the shortsightedness of management and promoting the digital transformation of enterprises.At the same time,the role of deregulation of market access in promoting green transformation is more obvious in non-state-owned enterprises and manufacturing enterprises,and the positive impact of deregulation of market access on green transformation is more significant in enterprises in the western region and industries with low degree of mar-ketization.The research results can provide experience reference and theoretical support for further implementing the negative list system of market access and promoting the green transformation of enterprises.
